HostelWatch is operated by Gold Creek Pond LLC, the same company behind The Broke Backpacker. Your data is handled in accordance with the Broke Backpacker Privacy Policy, with the following additions specific to HostelWatch.
What we collect
When you create an alert, we collect your email address and, if provided, your phone number, along with your hostel preferences, travel dates, and number of guests. We also generate a secure management token linked to your alert, which allows you to cancel or pause it without an account.
How we use it
Your email and phone number are used solely to send you availability notifications and service emails related to your alert. If you opt in to the newsletter checkbox, your email will also be added to The Broke Backpacker's mailing list via Kit (formerly ConvertKit).
Third-party services
Alert emails are sent via Resend. Phone numbers provided for SMS alerts are processed via Twilio. Neither service sells your data. Please refer to their respective privacy policies for further detail.
